What happens when you report an incident?

All information you provide us with will be treated confidentially. You will be protected from any potential disadvantages or retaliatory measures. No one will be judged prematurely, and all parties involved will be treated fairly and respectfully.

  • How to report an incident:
We take you and your experiences seriously. You can report the incident informally by email, telephone or in a personal conversation. The more detailed your information is (location, time, sequence of events and people involved), the better we can support you. We will then explain what happens next and what options you have.

  • Initial protective measures:
If necessary, we will take temporary measures to protect you or others involved – for example, by separating you physically or temporarily transferring the accused person.

  • How do we proceed?
We will examine your report carefully and impartially. In doing so, we will collect important information, such as witness statements or messages, and also speak with the accused person.

  • What happens next?
After the review, we will compile documentation summarising all the facts, witness statements and conclusions. Based on this, the Studierendenwerk will decide what measures to take to resolve the situation and prevent further incidents.
