Update 06 October 2026
We are continuing to develop our food options in Göppingen and adapting them to local demand. Unfortunately, expectations prior to and during the trial phase were not met: Demand for a hot meal is significantly lower than required, and the offering was not well received. Under these circumstances, it is not feasible for us to continue operating a canteen that includes hot main courses in the future. Therefore, in consultation with Esslingen University of Applied Sciences and the working group established in January, we have decided to permanently close the canteen in Göppingen.
At the same time, we want to create an attractive and reliable offering for students: We will continue to operate our cafeteria in Göppingen and focus on developing a menu that meets students’ needs, ensuring that the existing facilities are utilized to the fullest. This will maintain a central hub for daily meals.
The cafeteria on the ground floor is currently undergoing renovations, which is why service is temporarily located in Building 1 on the third floor. Once the work is complete, we will resume operations in the ground-floor cafeteria with an expanded offer.
We ask for your understanding that, under the current circumstances, it is no longer possible to operate the Göppingen canteen as it is now! This realignment will allow us to allocate our resources more effectively and create an offering that better matches actual demand. In this way, we hope to continue providing reliable food services at our Göppingen location in the future.

The Cafeteria is on the 3rd floor of Building 1. There, we'll provide you with snacks, sandwiches, drinks, and coffee.
Update 29 July 2026
The testing phase featuring an additional hot main course at the Cafeteria Göppingen has ended.
The working group, consisting of students and representatives from Esslingen Hochschule and the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart, met to evaluate the trial period. Unfortunately, expectations were not met: Demand for the hot main course was too low, and the offering was not well received.
The Cafeteria Göppingen is currently closed for the summer until 11 September 2026. After that, we’ll reopen with an expanded menu and offer you additional hot snacks.
Update 13 July 2026
You can also find our snack and beverage vending machines in Building 1, on the 3rd floor. This way, you can get drinks and sweet and salty snacks at any time, even outside of meal service hours.

Due to renovations, meals will be served on the 3rd floor of Building 1.
Uptdate 01 April 2026
We'll start a testing phase from April 13 to July 17: We offer you warm meals in the Cafeteria Göppingen. The menu will alternate between vegetarian dishes, meat dishes, and fish dishes.
As usual, you can check our menu to see exactly what’s on offer each day. The price per meal is 5.40 Euro for students and 8.40 Euro for staff.
These meals complement our existing cafeteria offerings. There, you’ll also find vegan and vegetarian options every day: sweet and savory snacks, sandwiches, salads, and vegan cutlets and meatballs from the hot food counter.
Update 29 January 2026
The working group held its first meeting.
In the coming weeks, the coffee machines will be converted to accept cashless payments. To offer you a wider selection on-site, we are working on getting the vending machine station back up and running. A specific date will be announced shortly.
Update December 2025
The cafeteria serves meals for the Göppingen campus. We offer a hot meat dish here. Originally, we had the Veganer Renner on the menu every day. However, following a meeting on December 10, 2025, with students and staff from the university, we switched to a meat dish at the request of the students present.
We offer vegan and vegetarian options in the form of sweet and savory snacks, sandwiches, salads, and vegan schnitzel or meatballs from the hot food counter.
A working group is being formed to further plan catering services in Göppingen: the Stuttgart Student Union will be represented by its managing director and the head of catering. Representatives from the university will also participate.
