Last week, we held our first gastronomic get-together in Stuttgart-Vaihingen. The main goal was to talk with you, exchange ideas, and work together to make improvements.
In our major 2025 customer survey, you showed us that you’d like to see even more from our dining services. That’s exactly where the “Stammtisch” comes in: It’s scheduled to take place once a month going forward and will facilitate regular dialogue between students and our gastronomic team.
At the first meeting, the Studierendenwerk was represented by the head of food services, the assistant cafeteria manager, the production manager of the Mensa Vaihingen and Managing Director Marco Abe. Together with representatives from the University of Stuttgart, stuvus, and the HdM, we discussed topics that are important to you.
Among other things, we came to the conclusion that we need to rethink our special and seasonal dishes. You’ve also asked for more variety in our menu. We already have some good news on that front: The buffet will return to the Mensa Vaihingen for the 2026/2027 winter semester. In addition, we’ll be redesigning the layout of the Mensa to help spread out the lines more evenly in the future.
