Corona aids

Due to the corona pandemic, many students are in financial distress. Some of them have lost the necessary part-time job, which hits international students particularly hard financially. The state government and the federal government provide assistance for students who are in financial need due to the pandemic. On this page you will find an overview and the most important information about this.

Since June, students can now apply for the long-awaited bridging aid - a non-repayable grant from the federal government.

IMPORTANT: When you apply for the bridging aid, please make sure that you provide correct and complete information and submit all necessary documents together. Online accounts, for example with PayPal, must also be verified. To ensure that your application is not rejected, it is essential that you also fill in the "Self-declaration" field, briefly but clearly explaining why you are in a pandemic emergency: For example, because you no longer have any income due to the pandemic, or you have lost your job dur tot he pandemic.

To ensure that all incoming applications for bridging aid can be processed as quickly as possible, our team from the BAföG-Amt is supported by other colleagues from other departments. If you have any questions regarding your already submitted application, please contact us by e-mail only, this is the best way for us to help you: ueberbrueckungshilfe-studierende@sw-stuttgart.de.
