200 Euro for students

All students who are enrolled at a higher education institution in Germany on 1 December 2022 will receive a one-off payment of 200 euros. With the one-time direct aid (energy price lump sum) the federal government wants to relieve students and professional students. Doctoral students, international students as well as part-time students or students in a dual study programme can also apply for the one-time payment.


How does the one-off payment work?

1. You have to set up a BundID so that you can identify yourself. 
2. you will automatically receive an access code from your university
3. Now you can submit your application online. 

Important: To be able to apply for the one-off payment, you need the BundID and also the online ID OR the Elster certificate.

You can apply since 15 March 2023 hier:  the one-off payment website.

The Federal Government and the Länder are currently working intensively on the preparation of a digital application platform. The application process for the one-off payment is expected to start shortly.

Our umbrella organisation, the German Student Union (Deutsches Studentenwerk), is campaigning for further support at the federal level and is calling for structural improvements in state student funding. The BAföG basic amount must be increased regularly.
